My Digital Marketing Journey

When I look back at how far I’ve come, I can’t help but feel grateful for the journey that brought me here. I’m Deeya Dechamma, an MBA student specializing in Digital Marketing, and this is the story of how a curious mind and a passion for creativity led me into one of the most dynamic and rewarding fields of our time.

The Beginning: Where Curiosity Sparked

My journey began like many others—scrolling through social media, watching trends evolve, and wondering what goes on behind the scenes of viral campaigns and successful brand pages. What started as simple curiosity quickly turned into a passion. I found myself experimenting with my own content, managing personal social media handles, and diving deep into the world of hashtags, algorithms, and engagement metrics.

Learning the Basics Through Freelancing

Before officially stepping into an MBA program, I explored freelancing opportunities. I dabbled in content creation, video editing, digital art, and social media management. These hands-on experiences helped me understand not just the creative aspect of digital marketing, but also the strategic planning and problem-solving that goes into each post, reel, or campaign.

The MBA Leap: Turning Passion Into Profession

Choosing to pursue an MBA in Digital Marketing was a turning point. It gave structure to my knowledge and expanded my horizons. From consumer behavior to brand management, and from SEO to performance analytics, I’ve been learning how digital strategies can transform businesses. The course has also sharpened my analytical thinking, creativity, and time management—skills essential for any marketer.

Projects That Inspired Me

One of the most exciting aspects of my MBA journey has been working on real-world projects. Whether it's crafting a mock social media campaign or analyzing the digital strategy of a major brand, every project taught me something new. I also enjoyed collaborating with peers, which simulated agency-style teamwork and brainstorming sessions.

My Creative Edge

What sets me apart is my creative eye. I love experimenting with digital art and visuals using tools like Autodesk SketchBook. This flair for aesthetics, combined with an understanding of digital trends, helps me create engaging and meaningful content that resonates with audiences.

Looking Ahead

I’m excited about what lies ahead. My goal is to contribute to brands that are driven by purpose and innovation. I believe that digital marketing is not just about selling—it’s about storytelling, connecting, and building trust.

Final Thoughts

To anyone considering a career in digital marketing: dive in. It’s fast-paced, ever-changing, and incredibly rewarding. Trust your curiosity, embrace the learning curve, and never stop experimenting. That’s what brought me here—and I’m just getting started.
